Uremia refers to the accumulation of waste products in the blood due to kidney failure, and it manifests through a variety of symptoms. One prominent symptom of uremia is loss of appetite. Patients suffering from uremia often experience a decreased desire to eat, which can lead to malnutrition and further complications if not addressed. This symptom can stem from the body's inability to eliminate toxins and the effects these toxins have on the gastrointestinal system, resulting in nausea and an aversion to food.

While severe headaches can occur in various medical conditions, they are not specifically indicative of uremia. Excessive thirst, or polydipsia, can also be a symptom in some situations, particularly with fluid imbalance, but it is not as commonly associated with uremia compared to loss of appetite. High fever is typically indicative of an infection and is not a hallmark symptom of uremia, which focuses more on the consequences of kidney function decline rather than infectious processes.
